Blair Family Sunday Drive

Yesterday, I went to a baby shower in Northern Kentucky. Matt picked me up when it was over and we decided we would go on our traditional Blair family Sunday drive, this time in Northern Kentucky, since we were already over there. We drove up to Devou Park, which truly has the most amazing view of Cincinnati. If you haven't been there, you must visit, the view is breathtaking!

We took quite a few pictures of Caroline with the city being the backdrop. This is truly one of the most amazing places to take pictures. They also have a pavilion, where you can have wedding receptions. It's called Drees Pavilion and it is quite lovely. We looked at it when we were getting married, but the wait list was 2 years.

After our tour of the park, we decided to go look at houses in Park Hills and Kenton Hills, both beautiful old villages overlooking the city. We went to an open house and looked at quite a few other homes deciding we are now adding Northern Kentucky back into the mix of places we will consider living once our house sells (which I hope is soon...we have had a girl look at it quite a few times and now she is just deciding...keep your fingers crossed for us).

Matt and I are big fans of older homes that are updated, as opposed to the newer suburban homes that are really not close to the areas in which we like to frequent. Someone Matt knows, who lives in Hyde Park, not far from us, who also went through the process of deciding where to move his family, gave Matt some very good advice. He asked Matt where the center of our "universe" is, which meant where do we frequent the most. Where do we like to eat, shop and play... Well, after thinking about that we realized that we like do things that are close to the city. We rarely visit the suburbs unless we're visiting friends or family. We both work downtown and honestly, I can't imagine a 30-40 minute commute to work just so I can live in a newer house in the suburbs. So, I think we have narrowed down our search. Now...this girl just needs to purchase our house!!!
