Down on the Farm

Yesterday we went to my parents friend's farm in Augusta, Kentucky. Quite a few times each year we get together with a number of families from the neighborhood where we grew up. It's always so much fun and it is such a blessing that we all still keep in touch. Almost everyone has moved out of the neighborhood, but no matter where they've all gone, we still make sure to get together each year!

We went to The Hopping Farm, which was beautiful. Augusta is about an hour or so drive from Cincinnati. You drive along the river to get there and it is such a wonderful drive. We had to cross the Ohio River via ferry boat to get into the town of Augusta. So Caroline was able to add another form of transportation to her long list. For an 11 month old, she has been on more forms of transportation than many adults... (car, plane, limo, bus, taxi, subway, cruise ship, ferry boat and of course her stroller).

Here is our little family on the ferry. Oh, and we were also graced with Nate Dog's presence, but he was in the car during the picture.

This is the town of Augusta from the ferry boat. If you all have never been, it's worth the drive from Cincinnati. It's a beautiful little Southern town on the Ohio River. It has quaint shops, restaurants and a very nostalgic feeling! Not to mention good ol' George Clooney is from here and comes back to visit his parents quite a bit!

The farm has horses, cows, three ponds and over 112 acres of fields. It's truly beautiful and it has a wonderful view of the Ohio River. The Hoppings are going to move to the farm (from Cincinnati) within the next year. They are having a house built on the land. It's certainly a great place for kids to explore. Here are a few pictures of our fun-filled afternoon.
